As usual the delivery was typical Amazon perfect. Un boxed the unit, read ALL of the directions and added oil and gas. Unit fired off with the second pull after hooking up water etc. Before using I purchased a "turbo nozzle" at the local big box store as I knew I had some heavy work ahead removing mold and green stuff off some patio pavers and walls. The high pressure hose is a bit stiff and this unit would benefit greatly from an after market hose. The supplied nozzles are just plain cheap, no other way to say it... they are not clean spraying and by the end of using it to wash the house and patio areas once will be replaced. With the turbo nozzle this unit will make short work of some really tough stuff, but it shouldn't be used on wood etc without great care.
I mentioned the engine on this unit started second pull, well it typically does start first or second pull unless one of the following happens. One, you run out of gas while operating, and two when the unit mysteriously decides to just shut off when in use. ( this happened twice) I'm not sure if it's the oil sensor ( it has the proper amount of oil in it) or perhaps it's running hot. ( 90 degree days while using) What ever the reason if either of the two I've mentioned happen, the unit will not start, no amount of swearing, dancing, fiddling, cajoling, or various threats to it's well being will work until the next day. ( three hours isn't long enough and I gave up in frustration till the next day)
So, take care not to run out of gas, and hope you don't have a mystery shutdown and this unit will get the job done at reasonable cost. A few cheap bits and pieces but overall acceptable for the money.
This is a unit that does a great job. You have to beware of the fitting 201497GS where you attached the high pressure hose. It is made of cast aluminum. Its threads
are soft and easy to damage. Mine jammed after I carefully attached the hose for the seventh project. When I finally wrenched it apart, the threads were stripped on the fitting and the high pressure hose was damaged and unusable. Too bad they included this cheap fitting. It should have been made of brass. Amazon sells this fitting, so it must be a common problem with this machine. If I had it to do over, I would not have purchased this unit, I would have opted for a more expensive-better build model.
