I am pleased with this inflator so far. (I hedge a bit, given the reviews stating that the device has failed for other users. But that's what the warranty is for.) It is easy to use, effective, and convenient with its storage compartment for power cords and inflation hose. I especially like the automatic cutoff feature; I can turn it on and let it do its thing while I'm doing something else. I run my automobile tires at higher pressures than most (60 PSI), and it had no trouble with those. It takes a couple of minutes, of course, but that's to be expected -- this is not a mechanic's air compressor, and I don't expect that level of performance. I haven't tried them on my higher pressure (90 PSI) bicycle tires yet.
Negatives that other reviewers have mentioned and my comments:
Gauge readability: Yes, it's a little hard to discern small PSI increments on the gauge. But I never rely totally on any pump's or inflator's built-in gauge for my tires; I always verify with a good quality tire pressure gauge. The inflator's gauge and cut-off get me in the ballpark, and then I fine-tune using the tire pressure gauge. They are within 1 or 2 PSI of each other.
AC power cord length: Not an issue. I likely would have to use an extension cord anyway. And the short power cord adds a bit to its portability -- no fiddling with it or trying to store a long (and useless while traveling) power cord with the device as it sits in my trunk.
Noise: No worse than any other inflator I've used.
Small storage compartment for cords and hose: Not too much of a problem, though it might take a little practice to get them coiled up the right way. It's handy to have the compartment.
Short inflation hose. No shorter than other inflators in this price range I've used. Plenty long enough to reach a valve stem at top dead center with the device on the ground next to the tire.
Plastic connector that might break. I'll judge it if or when it actually breaks, not before.
Having to cut the power switch off and then on again to run it after an automatic cutoff: Gimme a break, how big a deal is that

Overall works pretty well.

I purchased this unit in the spring and it worked well. The issue with it comes when you have to get it ready for wintewr storage. Draining the oil without it going all over is a problem because the drain is located next to the frame and by the wheel. I am in the process of trying to make an extension for the drain, which is difficult because of the unusual tread size. Additionally. the spark plugs are over $12 per plug, again because it is an unusual type plug and the manual does not give any cross referencers in order to buy a more generic plug. I give it a three star rating because of maintenace issues.

I seriously considered buying this unit, but decided against it. My local retailer swore that the engine for this unit was made by Generac in this country. I was skeptical. I then called Generac customer service and asked them point blank where the engine was made. They told me it was made in China. Now don't get me wrong here, I think that there are some things made in China which are pretty good, but I just don't feel that their quality control and materials have reached the point where they make relatively complicated mechanical devices which are comparable to that of other prime time companies. I would also be very concerned about getting parts when necessary. Moreover, I actually read the "2 year warranty" and found that the second year only warrants basic parts on the engine--no labor. Based on what I have found, I would stay away from this unit and look for something powered by Honda, Subaru, or even Briggs. Just MHO.

This pressure washer is very well designed and constructed. It is easy to assemble and very powerful, with many fine features.
HOWEVER, the unit arrived damaged. Specifically, there is a very flimsy mounting tray for the nozzle heads and detergent suction tube which spans the handle bar area. This tray is pressure molded from extremely brittle plastic and has important decals which have operating instructions affixed to that tray. The tray was not securely packed inside the shipping carton, nor was the tray protected in any way from shipping damage. As you might guess, it was completely broken from being crushed by the machine when the machine shifted during transit. NOW COMES THE VERY BAD PART No One, not the manufacturer (Karcher) nor Amazon.com, will assist me to get a replacement nozzle tray. I even offered to pay for a replacement tray, and customer service at Amazon.com said they could not help me, since it was some sort of a special shipment item, and the manufacturer, Karcher, said they were "out of stock" of that item, and didn't know if or when the item (both the tray and the decals) would be returning to stock. In plain English, that SUCKS!
So, if you are considering to purchase this item, then be prepared to be sorely disappointed with both Amazon.com and Karcher if it arrives in any sort of a damaged condition. Otherwise, it's a great pressure washer.

Do not purchase products from this mfg. My new washer was used twice before it would not start . The recoil from the pull cord was so bad it brused me twice . I gave up called Simpson my second mistake no help there and no concern about my injury. Sounds unbelieveable but true.
now I have to take it in for repairs, two hours old, with bruised body and ego.

This surface cleaner made easy work of a deck that usually takes me hours to clean. It was strong enough where it removed the grime that built up all winter, but gentle enough not to damage my wood. I fully reccomend this for anyone who uses a pressure washer and cleans large surfaces; between that and my PWS1750 unit, I can not be happier with how easy it has been to clean my backyard....and that is just the beginning!

I purchased this surface scrubber kit. First of all it says universal, however none of the attachments it came with fit my Generac Pressure Washer 1900PSI. I happened to have the right one lying around because I purchased a Briggs ; Stratton universal multi-purpose rotating brush kit awhile ago. The first day I used this scrubber I thought it was a great! Cleaned my driveway with ease. Next day I processed to clean my sidewalk, just before I was almost done one of the blue nozzles on the wand bar popped off. I've tried everything to put it back on, however it just keeps popping off. Second day of owning it and it breaks! The whole thing is made of flimsy plastic. I wouldn't recommend anyone waisting your time one this product. I personally think the Powerwasher? 81K075SH Universal Pressure Washer H-2-0 PowerwashBroom is a much better choice no moving parts to break, and its cheaper. The broom works great has three nozzles instead of two. Don't make the same mistake a did, buy the PowerwashBroom

Maybe it's just me... but the stinky, smoking handle problem wasn't an issue with me at all. When the diffuser arrived I unwrapped it and, with a gentle tug, pulled off the wooden handle! It's not like I'm going to be moving it around while I'm cooking on it. The handle would just get in my way on the stovetop, anyway. Without the handle, it stores much easier, too.
These little tin diffusers aren't designed to be used with a burner that's turned all the way up to "high". You'll need a cast iron or solid aluminum one for that kind of heat. If you're just trying to reduce hot spots or using it with a ceramic Moroccan tagine, it's perfect.

One thing about the gas range when we moved that just irked me was my inability to cook at low temperatures without burning things, even with my expensive "waterless" stainless steel (18/8) cookware. I was baffled and a little perturbed until one of the neighbors talked about her "diffuser." Your what, I asked? She showed me a well used, blackened metal diffuser that goes over the flame and your pot or pan sits on top of this. Imagine, I found one on Amazon for a pittance of a price, so I ordered two of them (one is in reserve, just in case). After the first usage, it blackened a little, then went on to color and season like most metals will do. The leather tie on the handle seemed a little silly and dangerous (hello? loose hanging objects on / near open flame) so I took it off and tossed it away. Also, the wooden handle seems to be a little ill-thought out (I'm also just waiting for it to burn when the metal gets hot enough) but you just be aware of it and be ready if it does. So: I'm rating this little item with five stars because it's ingenious, works very well, prevents burning and scorching and I'm happy with it. You will be, too!

I've Husky 1800S purchased in 2007 in its second season it started to leak water from the gun and replaced it with FAIP 80012 it works better then before. I don't belive my Husky came with greased O rings when i purchased in 2007 and for the same reason it broke so fast and Husky is asking $24.99 for replacement gun without the hose! plus shipping. FAIP gun and Hose connection areas are nicely greased to extend O rings life. Thank you FAIP

FAIP PowerWasher Replacement Gun and Hose 80012
I have a Powerwasher unit, so logically assumed this would work to replace a leaking hose. Wrong! I called Powerwasher. They said 80012 is not a part number they use. This apparently was made by somebody else and is thus misrepresented on the Amazon web site. The problem? The connection on the hose is a different diameter than on my Powerwasher unit.

i ordered this on a Friday, for Saturday delivery. I was very surprised they even offered it for such speedy delivery. As it turned out, though, they didn't get it shipped in time to arrive Saturday. I was disappointed, but things have a way of working out for the best. It came on Monday instead (Amazon credited me all shipping costs without my having to even ask -- that's why I buy so much from them so frequently). When I got it out of the box, I could see that oil had been leaking from somewhere. It wasn't from the bottle of oil they send to lubricate the engine, and at first, I was perplexed. As I assembled it, though, I could see some oil around a threaded plug on the top of the water pump. The instructions say that the water pump is sealed, and that you should never service it. So now what to do? The oil had clearly leaked out of it.
So I called customer service. That's why, as it turned out, it was best that it didn't arrive on Saturday. I would have had to wait until Monday anyway, and it would have been really tempting not to wait.
It took awhile to get through to a real person -- 15 minutes or so. When I did, the customer service folks were great. They had no way to know how much oil had leaked out, so they advised me not to start it until I refilled the pump. The pump holds exactly 4 oz of oil. They sent me that exact amount, but meanwhile told me I could buy it locally at Sears or Lowes if I was anxious to use it (which of course, I was). So I went to Sears, and got the oil. The customer service guy told me to remove the drain plug, and turn the whole thing onto its side to drain it. The plug is on TOP of the water pump. As it is, to get it all out, I actually had to turn the washer upside down. Once I had it drained out, I put in exactly 4 oz. As it turned out, I don't really think much had leaked out. Looked like about as much drained out as I ended up putting back in it. But I had peace of mind.
Then I finished the assembly, added engine oil, gas, and followed all the directions for the initial startup. I will say that I find the engine a bit difficult to start. But I'm learning where it likes the choke to be set, and a few other tricks to find the sweet spot, and it is getting easier. I'm not getting any younger or stronger, and it might not be as difficult for a lot of folks.
In operation, it is a great machine. Loud, but aren't they all. Wear ear protection, and hope your neighbors are the kind that will put up with the noise in exchange for your house, driveway, or whatever looking spiffy. I have now done all the aggregate patios, drives, etc. around my house, plus the exterior of the gutters (I live in the mold, algea, moss ridden northwest). I'm completely happy with the quality of the washer itself. I did end up buying the turbo nozzle right away (Sears had it right next to the pump oil; theirs is made by Briggs ; Stratton, but cost about $10 less than Amazon's price for the B ; S). My advice: if you are doing patios, walkways, etc. get the turbo nozzle. It is a BIG improvement over the most powerful of the ones that comes with the washer.
A final comment: the hose reel isn't all it's cracked up to be. The hose is a bit stiff and doesn't reel on all that easily. Plus the unit itself tips over backward somewhat easily, so when you wind the reel, it wants to tip. I was looking forward to the reel, but I find it to be almost more trouble than its worth -- still, it is ever so slightly worth the trouble. Once the hose is on the reel, it does help it store away more compactly and without hose everywhere.
Bottom lines: I was torn between a four and five star rating. I settled on 4 stars because of the clunky hose reel and the somewhat hard starting engine. Four and a half would probably be more fair. Know that shipping a big piece of equipment like this has some issues. And you do end up having to do the assembly yourself (which wasn't hard, but takes 45 minutes or so). If you find one locally for not much more money than Amazon's very good price, it might be worth it to just buy it from a brick and mortar store. But I couldn't find one locally (one of the John Deere's that Lowe's sells uses the identical engine, and might have been tempting, but it was about $100 more). If you do have any issues on this washer that require customer support, know that Briggs ; Stratton's customer support is top notch. That's worth something, when you compare brands. I'd make the same purchase again, complete with UPS shipping and self-assembly.

The pressure washer base and motor appear durable (owned one month). Assembly instructions confusing (refers to engine oil dipstick no longer included). The washer gun is a not as good, wand leaks but customer service is taking care of it (Customer service very good). Overall a good machine.
